I got a Feeling

Have you ever went into a race with that weird feeling that something just isn't right? Have you you ever drove 5 hours plus to a half-iron race or longer ALONE knowing that it probably wasn't the brightest move?

Those were just a few of the questions that were running through my head going into the Augusta 70.3. In addition:

I still had not signed up....

Getting to the race would require a 9 hour drive ALONE...

With my whole team bailing, I would be staying alone too..

No support.

Nada.

I had to ask myself: Aren't we in this sport to have "FUN" in the first place?

It was just all together a really bad idea. But what can a girl do when she is training her a## for this silly race? There was no way I could waste the hard training I've put in the past few months. I am determined to get a solid 70.3 under my belt before IMTX. A spring or OLY would not do the job.

After some careful research, I have found a new option: The Revolution3 Cedar Point. Goodbye WTC and hello REV3! I've have heard nothing but good things about their races :) And with the close proximity to Pennsylvania my mom aka personal paparazzi will also be able come out and cheer!

(Sigh of relief)... Although I can't say I've mastered the whole bike flying ordeal quite yet.... there is a first for everything isn't there? I think I can swing it.

Sometimes you have to go with your gut. I hope I made the right move. Any fellow bloggers headed that way September 11th? Hope to see ya there ;) I got a feeling... Rev3 is going to be a blast!

  2. That's awesome Heidi! Good decision. I think a bunch of bloggers I follow are having a huge meetup there. Wish I lived a little closer (driving distance wise). I thought of you yesterday when I was running ...it was a year yesterday that you were here doing your long run with me! Keep us the great training! See you in 90 days!

  3. I've heard nothing but good things about the Rev3 races as well.

Unfortunately, I'll be in Las Vegas under WTC rules the same day, but you and I will just have to dominate cross-country!
