Upgrades

Not only does Ironman training take a toll on your body, it takes a huge toll on all of your equipment. With that said, I've had to replace a lot of stuff over the past couple months. And with a new season brings a new equipment! Here are some of the recent big changes I have made:

1) Race Wheels!

I'll be sporting these carbon 650 c Planet x wheels on the Pink Hotness.

2) A New Garmin Forerunner 110(Very much needed after this happened the night before Ironman Florida)
Yes my friends-my Garmin FR60 was held together with electric tape and super glue on race day. Not a huge fan of this watch. (And that was only after one season of wear.)

3) A helmet to match the pink hotness
Anyway Flex says go Steelers!
What big equipment changes have you made for 2011?

Heidi Gone Technical

I must say:so-far-so-good with the heart rate training... Last week on the track revealed the ultimate truth that I have not lost too much speed. YAY for speed! I was able to do 8x400s around 1:20-25 seconds and 2x800s around 3:05.

Where did the speed come from you ask?

Heart rate training works I tell you! (Especially considering the last track workout I've done was probably late-late summer of last year....)

I've been properly managing and recording my heart rate through all my workouts! In fact, my Garmin and I have become new friends.

Except for when it does this....
How does your heart rate jump from 60 to 180 less than a minute into a run? It was super cold and I'm hoping it was an artifact. I was scared for a moment and thought maybe I was dying and should go home? Luckily, my heart rate returned to normal and I'm still here :)

Anyway hope everyone is having a great week! Saturday is my first race of 2010....just a 10 miler... fingers crossed for no snow and a fun race :)
