I'm back for good this time! Where do I even start? I guess I will start off with where I have been.... With nightmare triathlon a few weeks back, overwhelming- PT board- studying, getting horribly sick, taking a mini vacation, oh -and starting a new job... I put triathlon on the back burner temporarily. This could very easily turn into a novel so I'll provide you with the cliff notes version.
The Heatwave triathlon that I did a few weeks ago in Mississippi went horribly wrong. I was burnt out both mentally and physically.... Racing 4 out of 6 weeks will do that. My head wasn't in it at ALL and the 100 degree temperatures were just hell-ish. The swim was so hot that it was suffocating. Simply put: it was just UGLY. After the race, I forced myself to step back a little and re-evaluate some things.
After the race I did a quick orientation at my new job and then jetted off to North Carolina for one last vacation. It would be the first time my little bro and sister and I would be all together in I think 5 years. It was a nice break before heading back to work although there was no break in the rigorous studying. The trip was perfect, amazing, fun, and beautiful. I did:
a little running...

lots of studying...

a little surfing...
and of course for anyone who knows my mom: a family photo shoot lol....

After that it was back to real life for me:

Starting a new job is never easy. I can say looking back that studying for my boards and starting a new job before I passed was an extremely dumb idea. To add to the challenge, after my first day on the job I came down with the worst imaginable virus/cold.... . Regardless of my poor judgement call, hard work and lots of prayer pulled me through. Last Tuesday I passed my national physical therapy boards and am officially a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy! Three plus years of hard studying, tears, and constant struggles have all paid off!
Thank you to my family and friends for encouraging me all the way! I'm excited to start this next chapter of my life.... For now it's back to work and yes back to triathlon.
