Heidi Gone Technical

I must say:so-far-so-good with the heart rate training... Last week on the track revealed the ultimate truth that I have not lost too much speed. YAY for speed! I was able to do 8x400s around 1:20-25 seconds and 2x800s around 3:05.

Where did the speed come from you ask?

Heart rate training works I tell you! (Especially considering the last track workout I've done was probably late-late summer of last year....)

I've been properly managing and recording my heart rate through all my workouts! In fact, my Garmin and I have become new friends.

Except for when it does this....
How does your heart rate jump from 60 to 180 less than a minute into a run? It was super cold and I'm hoping it was an artifact. I was scared for a moment and thought maybe I was dying and should go home? Luckily, my heart rate returned to normal and I'm still here :)

Anyway hope everyone is having a great week! Saturday is my first race of 2010....just a 10 miler... fingers crossed for no snow and a fun race :)

  1. I often have weird jumps in my heart rate with my Garmin. I suspect it is because we have not started sweating enough for a good contact to be made withe skin and the strap. Just a guess though!

  5. weather is Garmin's enemy, makes it do funky stuff to mess you up! I love heart rate training it works so well if you stick to it! Kick some butt on the weekend, I am sure you will! BTW, love the yoga beach pose with hubby! Cheers!

  10. maybe you will convince me soon to try training with an HR monitor. sending good race vibes your way on saturday!

  11. I also think those high HR markers were false readings. Especially seeing that your interval data was only in the 160's / 170's. Great work and look out New Orleans!
