NOLA 70.3 course unveiled

I was lucky enough to spend the past weekend in New Orleans with my husband Scott. Just 3 more months in cold, yucky Pittsburgh before I get to join him in the bayou! We had a relaxing weekend that included completing our scheduled workouts of course and eating delicious nawlins food.

We had some down-time Saturday and I really wanted to explore the New Orleans 70.3 course and so we did! It was interesting to say the least. I thought I would take pictures for ya'll so you can see it for yourself.

Here goes....
The swim
Can't say Lake Pontchartrain is very inviting this time of year...
The Bike
You will be fortunate enough to bike past hot pink strip clubs, Chinatown, swamplands, and old Mardi Gras floats. There are plenty of silly sites on this pancake flat course. The Run
The run was a lot like the bike... TOTALLY flat and kinda boring. BUT
you get to finish here:

And if you are really really hungry can have one of these:Or if you are thirsty, you can have one these... Preferably the gallon size. Note to self $5 off on Sunday! (the race just so happens to fall on sunday)
Come do the race so we can party afterwards! There are only a few slots left!

  4. I remember racing in New Orleans in 99, I think? Duathlon Nationals and it was so friggin muggy I was like, "people really live here!?" And, then I went back to celebrate "real" New Orleans and then I understood WHY people live there! It is soo fun and the food is awesome! Thanks for posting the pics! :))
