As I approach the final race of triathlon season, I always aim to finish strong and give everything I have left. Ironically, I finish my off seasons with a very same attitude. I'm sure anyone who's trained for an IM of half IM can relate. Given my last week of freedom before 70.3 training, it was time for my final off season stretch. Instead of swimming, biking, and running I spent the last week:
Climbing... (12.5 repeats of 36 flights~equivalent of Pikes Peak) Boarding... (Good ol' 7 Springs in the Laurel Mountains)
and cross-fitting.... (this was too ugly for pictures)
And can't forget Transitions~They were spent eating/drinking/socializing.
Too bad I was finally starting to enjoy the off-season...... As 2010 comes to a close, cheers to next year and for the beginning of NOLA 70.3 training!
I know the feeling. I'm getting used to sleep in...until 6am. ;) Hope you had a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteI too, am so ready to get back on a schedule. I don't do well with all the freedom. Looks like you got a good dose of cold weather fun girl. Nice! Happy New Year! Hope to do some training with you again in 2011. Good luck with your training for NOLA 70.3. By the way, I love how you got your hair did (sorry for the ghetto talk)!

ReplyDeleteHappy new year! Glad you enjoyed the rest before the new start. If we weren't having such a COLD snowy winter a spring 70.3 could work but not likely! So get on it for me:)
