I've been avoiding my blog like the plague this week. I think the lack of sunshine and coldness was getting to me.
Either way it doesn't help we were dumped on today.... 20 something inches! ALL I was looking forward to this weekend was doing my 3 hr trainer ride/brick with Kim, Chad, Jen, Jocelyn, and some other friends. I knew when I walked out to my car at 6 am this morning and saw this...... I would NOT be going anywhere anytime soon :(
Luckily, I sucked it up and got my workout done. I'm not going to lie and say it was fun or easy. I wanted to claw my eyes out after the first hour. I watched, "New in Town" with Renee Zellweger. HORRIBLE movie....... especially on the trainer :(
To make for a good ending, a local news crew stopped me while I was finishing up my brick. They pretty much were making fun of me for being out there running. I made sure I said something extremely dumb about how running was more fun that studying. Hopefully none of my professors caught a glimpse.
To reward myself for finishing my workout and to motivate myself to study, I escaped from my cave and fetched a delicious Carmel Machiatto. Sometimes it's nice living in the city :) The sun even came out for awhile! And-yes- the cold, white nastiness was actually kind of pretty.
As for my 90 min run tomorrow... I guess I'll worry about that in the morning.
Wow. That is cold. And you are hardcore.
ReplyDeleteWOW! You did something to get mother nature on yourbad side! Drive safe and have fun shovelling! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I cannot even fathom what that cold must feel like or what running in snow feels like. You need to get the news clip and post it it on you blog...that's definitely hardcore! hope you are able to get your 90 minute run in today.
ReplyDeleteGuess we NorEasters can't complain about the steady 20 degree weather we've been having after looking at what you have to deal with. Glad to see that you had a happy ending to a huge challenge. :)

I'm shivering just looking at your pictures, and you're making me realize I'm being a WIMP for not getting out this am for my run here in nor cal
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you were on the news!!! HAHA!! :) Hope you got that long run in okay. Ugh - snow was fun and pretty at first but I'm annoyed with it already. ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe the Olympics should have been out there... high of 55 today. It's (finally) raining today so maybe, just maybe, there'll be some snow on the mountains.
ReplyDeleteAwesome job, I am jealous of all the snow you guys are getting! And totally impressed by you getting outside for training, good work!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow - for all the snow on the ground - you looked GREAT running out there! :) YEA!! Hopefully everything went well for your 90 min run today - Nice work Heidi!!

That is a lot of snow. I've been reading about your guys been snowed in but I didn't realise it was that bad. Well done for getting out there. Yay.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, that's some snow! Hope you didn't bust your arse...at least in front of the cameras. I'm sure it was something like - look at this nut job out running in this snow!
