Birthday #1

The holiday season is a stressful time of year for most. Add not one..... but TWO birthdays to the mix and you have an even crazier time. Ironically, my husbands and my birthday fall on the 27th and 28th of December respectively. As hard as I try, I'm not so good sometimes at the whole planning thing. For once, this year I was on top of things. My husband, Scott, is from Tampa Bay, Fl and for some strange reason is a huge Buccaneers fan. The stars just so happened to align this year and the Buccaneers vs. Saints game happened to fall on his birthday. After my 90 minute morning run (which surprisingly felt good), Scott and I hopped on the streetcar and headed to the Superdome.
He made me do it!
Let's just say that I'm glad I made it out alive...

I don't think I need to re-hash what happened during the game. It was a sad day in New Orleans. Scott definitely got the best birthday present ever: a Tampa Bay win. To celebrate this rare occasion, we headed to the French Quarter and downed some "Buccaneer Blasts".
To my surprise, we made more friends than enemies....
Including a this super cute three-legged dog :( I wanted to take him home with meAlthough I'll always be a true Steeler fan at heart, it was a fun time and I'm glad that the Saints gave Scott a win!

What a game, glad you didn't get your ass handed to ya wearing that Tampa Bay gear.

  2. Ohhh...wearing Tampa gear in New Orleans!?!? WOW! Balls! :) Glad you guys had a good time!

I don't know what it is about those frozen slushies, but I tend to fall out of my chair after drinking a few!!!

So...I don't think I'll be doing New Orleans 70.3 this year...it's the week before St. Anthonys. BAD planning on my part!

  5. Happy birthday. And beach cruiser commuting can totally count as bike training. Those bikes are heavy.
