Storm Chasers
To beat the Florida heat and the forecasted thunderstorms, Scott and I hit the road around 6:30 am this morning. We had a 50 mile out and back ride planned to Pensacola Beach. Despite the ominous weather report, we were optimistic as the sun seemed burst through the morning cloud cover.....Our optimism quickly faded around the 11 mile mark, as the dark thunderheads and distant rain seemed to rush towards us. The beach was definitely a "no go" today... Scott and I simultaneously agreed to head back home. We both knew better than than to try play "storm chaser" with the unpredictable-florida-summer thunderstorms. Luckily we escaped just in time and managed to squeeze in a solid 25 miles on the bike and a post 30 min run.

I found your blog off of bree's and I'm cracking up at the hair photo. I have a similar one I took to put in a post, but never did. My hair is a knotted mess after running no matter what I do before or how I braid it.
ReplyDeleteWhoohoo!! Have to love hurricane season!! Smart to turn back - I don't know how many times i've been stuck in that mess!
ReplyDeleteLove the hair, looks mah-velous! Best of luck combing that nest out;)
ReplyDeleteYou're hair does look like it got struck by lightning!
ReplyDeleteFirst - love the hair..mine always looks like that after a race. Glad you guys got a little ride in! Looks like fun! Miss you too! We'll get together when you come back!
ReplyDeleteNow I found your blog from Kim who commented on Maggs blog because she found it from you. Uh, make sense?
ReplyDeleteThat hair picture is GOLD.
Well - I certainly remember the fear of thunderstorms in Pensacola :) And no, getting caught in them is NOT fun. The worst? Being up somewhere in Munson and seeing the most awful thunderheads over Milton. Ugh. I can sympathize. :) Smart choice for the both of you to head home and run off the bike!
ReplyDelete(You know - I actually kind of miss the afternoon thunderstorms out here. we never get any!)
