Wow ~I have really been sucking at this whole blogging thing. I can tell my move and finals are even closer. Anyway here is a quick recap of the week:
Last Saturday was Just a Short run in Pittsburgh. Since NOLA 70.3 is so close, I opted for the 5k instead my planned half marathon. I really didn't want to miss a long ride and it just wouldn't have been smart to race a half marathon this close to my taper. Kim decided to join me last minute and switched from the half as well. We took 1-2 overall :) And thankfully they were awarded cash to overall winners! yay! (it paid for my post-race nutrition lol)
It was quick and painful but we got it done! I was not terribly pleased with my time but who cares right? It was just a 5k. Not so meaningful in the grand scheme of things. To prolong the torture, I had a 3 hour girl's ride planned afterward. Can't say it was the smartest idea but I survived. Thanx to 3 other awesome triathlete girlfriends whom I'm going to miss terribly in a few weeks :(
It was oddly cold that day and my booties were packed away. To compliment my 3 layers of pants, I ended up using some sexy-purple wool sox with holes cut in the bottom instead-compliments of Jocelyn. So hot....
Luckily, the weather has changed and it jumped from 30s to 80s in less than a week. It was perfect today for my 3x1 mile, 8x100 repeats today on the track. As much as I LOOOOOVE the track, mile repeats=ouch. But my taper has begun. I almost felt lazy today for not having to crank out a 5 plus hr workout. Speaking of taper~ I shipped my bike Thursday :(
It's official the pink hotness is New Orleans bound! Which means 2 things:
1. Race day is in 2 weeks!
2. My move to New Orleans is in 3 weeks!
Wow things are happening fast. Anyway hope everyone has a beautiful Easter Weekend!
