Blogger Love from Florida

This weekend I made the journey to Tampa Florida to visit my hubby's family. With the military lifestyle family visits are few and far between. Now that we're settled in New Orleans we figured it was about time.

While in Tampa, I had the opportunity to meet up with a very special blogger: Kristine Concepcion better known as "KC". While I traded bringing the wiener dog over the pink hotness and would be bike-less, we figured we could squeeze in a long run Friday before KC headed off to work. I do love the in-laws don't get me wrong, but any opportunity to escape would be well utilized. Even if it called for a 4:30-a.m.-er to meet up with my fellow blogger :)

Kristine and I met up bright and early in her neck of the woods. We hit it off without missing a beat like we had been friends for years. Besides trampling armadillos and watching for gators, our entire run was filled with great conversation about training, triathlon, running, life, and balance in the early dawn hours.

The neighborhoods and park that we ran through were amazingly beautiful and conveniently stocked with water stops every couple miles. I had major Florida envy.I could tell KC was a seasoned runner as she laid out the route perfectly. She is an amazing runner and triathlete and I'm excited to see how she does later on this year in her first IM, (the Great Floridian). I highly recommend you check out her blog. She is a rock-star marathoner turned triathlete and I'm sure will learn a lot!

I'm thankful that she let me tag along for 12.5 miles at my snail-pace. To finish our run, we had to do the post-sweaty- photo-op.
Thanx KC for saving me from the in-laws and of course for the great run! I love blogger friends and triathletes they are the BEST-est :)

  4. aaawwww! Thanks! I love it. Seeing us up close and side by side like that is surreal. Kristina is right, we could pass for sisters...we have the same nose!!
Now you know when you come back, there's an extra bike with your name on it so you can go ride the hills with us.

  7. FYI...this girl doesn't run at a snails pace. She had to school me a bit on slowing my pace down on the long run and for that I say thank you b/c I kicked some serious ass all weekend on the bike like never before. Hmmm....you keep working on me Heidi, I'm coming around and sorta buying into slowing down to get faster. Blog buddies are truly a wealth of knowledge.
